1. Scope
YNotes is developed by Tianyan Technology (天衍科技). This page explains what information we collect, how we use it, how it is stored, and what choices you have when you use the YNotes app and related services.
Our design goal is simple: keep your study materials on your device whenever possible, and only send the content needed to fulfill the AI action you asked for.
2. What we collect
- Account information. When you sign in with Apple, we receive your Apple user identifier and, if provided by Apple, your email address.
- Subscription and usage information. We store plan level, usage counters, and basic timestamps so we can enforce limits and operate the service.
- AI request content. When you use AI features, the text or image region you choose may be sent to the configured AI provider to generate a response.
- Feedback. If you contact us or submit feedback in the app, we may receive the content you send, optional contact information, app version, device model, and related diagnostics.
3. How we use information
- To sign you in and keep your account available across launches.
- To provide AI features such as explanation, translation, and practice generation.
- To measure usage, enforce subscription limits, and keep the service reliable.
- To respond to bug reports, privacy requests, and support questions.
4. Storage and sharing
Notes, handwriting, and PDF annotations are intended to remain local to your device by default. We do not run a cloud notebook service for your study content.
Account and usage records may be stored on our backend infrastructure, including Cloudflare Workers KV, so that sign-in, plan checks, and usage limits work correctly.
The default AI experience may send the selected content you provide to our model provider, such as Alibaba Cloud / Qwen, in order to answer your request.
If you enable BYOK (Bring Your Own Key), your key is stored locally on your device, for example in the iOS Keychain, and requests are intended to go directly to the provider you configured, such as OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google.
5. Retention and your choices
We keep account and service records for as long as reasonably needed to operate the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.
You may contact us to request access, correction, or deletion of personal information that we store, subject to applicable law and technical constraints.
6. Children’s privacy
YNotes is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information to us, please contact us so that we can review the situation and take appropriate action.
7. Policy changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update this page and revise the “Last updated” date shown above.
If a change is material, we may also notify you through the app or our website.
8. Contact us
If you have questions about privacy, support, or data requests, contact Tianyan Technology at [email protected].
